Italian Alps vs Swiss Alps?

Please forgive me if this is a repost! My family of 6, children 13,11,9,7, will be travelling in Italy for 3 weeks this summer. we have the following itenerary:

Rome-4 days
Amalfi-5 days
Lucca 7 days

My problem is this: I have promised my eldest daughter that I would show her the mountians where Heidi was set. We fly out of Zurich 6 days after Lucca. How is our time best spent getting from Lucca to, let's say Grindelwald area? Are we pushing it to hard? Should we be satisfied with the Italian Alps? If so, where and why? I need all the expert advice I can get. Oh, by the way, we have always travelled with our kids so they are veterans and we love to travel with them, if that helps.

I think several people (including me) responded to a similar question from you yesterday, but I just ran a search and can't find your earlier message. If you want us to respond again, let us know, I may have saved my comment from yesterday.

What was your post titled yesterday? How "far back" did you look for it? Was it originally posted in the last 24 hours? 48 hours?

Searching does NOT work any time the indexing is overdue to be updated. And it is currently about three weeks overdue.

With a little luck, it ought to be possible to find it. Knowing the title would help; I don't seem to recall any such post in the past 48 hours with a title quite like this one.

Best wishes,

Rex
Hmmm...

So it DID have the same title. You can locate it now (and for all time) at http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessages.jsp?fid=2&tid=34390979

It's at the top for you (now, for a short period of time). It was really not all that "deep" - - at number 193.
