Legalized gambling in Venice & Florence

Are there gambling casinos in Venice and Florence? Someone said gambling in Venice is restricted to a few places on the island of Lido, but not in Venice itself. We are not big gamblers, but we would like to see lealgized gambling in Italy.

Mary,
There is a casino in Venice, its summer home is on the Lido and its winter home is on the Grand Canal...both quite upscale, particularly the Grand Canal palace. Not sure exactly when the location shifts. I don't believe there is a casino in Florence.

The biggest and most exhilarating (unregulated) gamble in Italy doesn't involve a roulette wheel. It involves a steering wheel.

Best wishes,

Rex
The Venice casino is relativly small with 2 or 3 flores. You have to have a sport jacket to get in but no fear they have lots you can use at no cost.

John

To enter the Venice Casino you are required to produce your passport.
