Length of time from airport to Dublin City Centre
How long does it take to get into the City Centre from Dublin airport on a Saturday morning? And, how much does it cost-- taxi, bus, other? We'll be heading to Buswell's from the airport. Conversely, how long would it take to go BACK to the airport on Monday morning?

As I recall, it took about 25min from O'Connell & Abbey Streets on an Airlink Bus; but that was the 05:15 AM bus (the first of the day). In 2004 it cost 5 Euro pp.
Sorry, I don't know where Buswell's is. I was staying at Wynn's hotel on Abbey Street.

Buswell's is on Molesworth, Dublin 2. Do you happen to know about how large the airport is? I'm coming in on BMI and my daughter is coming in on Aer Lingus, within 30 minutes of each other. The map guide on the airport site doesn't seem all that big, but maps can be deceiving.

Aircoach bus goes to the ariport from Dawson St outside the shop Pink Shirt Shop. Molesworth St is just of Dawson St. To check out timetables , see www.aircoach.ie. It's about 12E return. You could also get a taxi, which will cost 25-30E each way. Or you could get the 41 or 41b bus from Lower Abbey St which costs about 1.80E each way. All buses stop and depart outside Dublin airport arrivals/departures door, look out for signs.
It normally takes 25-30 mins to go from the airport to the city center. Maybe a little longer depending on what time Saturady morning you are arriving. Sat is the shopping day so the city center will be crowded and you are staying right beside Grafton St, one of the main shopping areas. Going the other way depends on the time you are going at. If it is before 7am then allow 45mins. Anytime after that allow 1.5-2hrs, as traffic is usually chronic. Also remember to leave enough time to get through security, which is slow moving at the best of times.
Dublin airport is very small. You will both be picking up your luggage in the same area and will both use the same main exit door. So you can decide to meet either at the luggage collection area or outside. Outside is usually pretty crowded.

Wow, 1.5 to 2 hours to get back out to the airport after 7 AM? That kind of surprised me!! Especially when coming into the city is about 30 minutes. Well, we will be going back out to the airport on Monday just to pick up our rental car there and continue on with our trip within Ireland, but I will keep the info handy regarding slow security lines for when we are back and ready to fly home. And I will check out the air coach. Thank you!
