Looking for nice hotel for $300 USD

I'm going to London on business and can stay anywhere I want as long as I don't spend more than $300 US dollars (or 190 pounds) per night -- so this is an opportunity to stay somewhere nicer than I normally could afford. I'm looking for suggestions for nice places to stay -- hopefully somewhere in the thick of things -- maybe Covent Garden or theatre area. Thanks!

You might try the Covent Garden Hotel, one of the nicest little boutique hotels in London. For a single room at this time of year, you should be able to haggle a price less than $300. Good luck.

Thanks for the recommendations for Knightsbridge and Covent Garden Hotel. They look lovely! I have emailed both hotels to check availability and rates. I also checked londontown.com for rates, but couldn't find these hotels. Anyone have any suggestions of other good, reliable sites for booking these hotels?

Just checked on ebookers.com & they have the St Martin's Lane (which is an Ian Schrager Hotel) for about $280/nite plus tax for early May. They also have the Sanderson which I think was redesigned by Phillipe Starck for under $300. They also have the Raffles Brown's Hotel which THE traditional English Hotel and famous for it's afternoon tea at $250-270 plus tax.

On ebookers you can get a map showing where the hotel is located.

BTW, your company may be able to negotiate a corporate rate that's better than these.

Just stayed recently at Le Meridien Grosvenor House. It was really quite nice. Across street from Hyde Park and easy walking to Oxford St. Paid less than $300. Also, I recall receiving a promotional rate for the Mandarin located on Knighsbridge. Ya may want to check that out.
