Try the Automobile Association's website at www.theaa.com. You can print out routes there, and approximate travel times. There's also a lot of other helpful info. I'm sure there will be an equivalent to Mapquest, but I don't know what it is.

There's always www.mapquest.co.uk, and multimap.com has a directions function, as well as the AA

The best map/directions site for Europe that I know of is sponsored by Shell Oil, the site is http://www.shellgeostar.com<BR><BR>I've used it to get driving directions to friend's homes all over the UK and Ireland; it is comprehensive and very reliable.

when using mapquest.co.uk, be aware that sometimes the site gives you the SHORTEST route, as opposed to the EASIEST. <BR><BR>a pal once showed me his map from stevenage (north of london) to uxbridge (west of london) actually on the smaller roads through a lot of towns. i told him to just hop on the M25. longer, but a lot easier.
