Mediterranean Cruise choices

My husband turns 40 on May 28th and I'd like to take him on a 7 night Mediterranean cruise. Cruises that I've found, are Costa Condordia, Royal Carribean Voyager of the Sea and Norwegian Gem, all departing from Barcelona. Which do you savvy travelers prefer and why?

My familly went on the Norwegian Barcelona cruise last June. At the time it was the Jewel ship. The Gem is a brand new ship!! I think the itinerary may have changed a bit also.

The trip was amazing! The ship was beautifu. What we particularily liked was the fact that the cruise is freestyle. You are not obligated to be at any place at any time for dinner. As long as you are back at the ship for the recommended departure time, your day is your own. The 2 main restaurants were very good and the buffets were good also. We loved this cruise! Highly recommend!

Check how long you are in each port. It makes a difference. If you're in Livorno until atleast 7:00 you have time to go it alone and spend a full day seeing Florence. If you depart at 3 or 4, you are at the mercy of the ship. You can go ashore long enough to do A TOUR and have lunch. Then it's back to the ship. We were on Voyager, and had fun.
