Monaco ?
Anyone stayed in Monaco ? We are planning a trip there but can't find much info - I was able to find out that there's a L'Meridian hotel there ? Any help will be appreciated.

I've been to Monte Carlo a couple of times. Le Meridien has a good location on Ave Princess Grace, there are plenty of restaurants & boutiques along that street. The Larvotto beach is just down the street going east. There are plenty of daily restaurants and nice boutiques on that street. One of my favorite simple restaurants is Ariston on Pr.Grace #39, I go there strictly for their plate of crispy wild mushrooms.
We are staying at the Hermitage in September because our friends want to stay closer to the casino, otherwise I would pick Le Meridien as well. The only hotel to avoid is Fairmont(used to be Loews) because the rooms have not been renovated yet.

We stayed at Le Meridien and liked it a lot, especially the pool area. It is a bit of a walk to the casino/palace/yacht harbor but not that far and there is much to see along the way.
Recommend the palace tour, walking all over, playing a little roulette at the casino, long lunches and window shopping.
We stopped for a drink at the Yacht Club which was a lot of fun.
Also a day trip to Nice, Vieux (Old) Nice and the Matisse Museum, in particular.

I forgot that Le Meridien is one of the few that has its own beach. Forget the Larvotto public beach as the hotel private beach is way better. We used to go there because our kids like the kiddie playground but actually the beach itself is nothing special as it is a public beach.

If you're staying 3 nights, you can get incredible deals on many 4 star hotels in Monaco at: http://www.visitmonaco.com/index.cfm...amp;pageId=396
If you book just two nights in any hotel in Monaco, you get a complimentary helicopter ride from Nice airport by joining the Diamant Rouge club.
