My Itinerary (Rome, Florence, Venice) - Any thoughts/suggestions?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy in late April/early May of this year to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Since we booked sort of late, we struggled in finding hotel accomodations. Would appreciate any thoughts/ideas/comments on our itenerary.

Rome - Hotel Scalinata di Spagna for 4 nights
Florence - Hotel Pitti Palace for 4 nights
Venice - Hotel Danieli for 4 nights

And since our flight leaves at 9:30 am out of Milan, we will spend our final night at the Hotel Villa Malpensa.

I appreciate the feedback from these board so much! I'd much rather read about someones personal experience than read a generic description in a book.

Thanks!
Shannon

Shannon, Well, that is an all-star lineup to envy. Do you mind if I tag along---I won't be much trouble and will even carry some bags.
If you go south from Bologne there are several great towns you might not want to miss. Imola, Faenza, Forli and Forlimpopoli. Each of these towns have magnificent churches in the centers and Imola has a great museum of science.

Whatever you do, don't miss the fresh sliced tomatoes with olive oil/vinegar
and a big hunk of cheese and a glass on vino. There's a little place near the dormo..behind the Bapistry with tables and umbrellas....perfect lunch!

Definately do a day trip from Florence to Sienna. It is an easy bus ride and is incredible!

My Mum has NEVER stopped raving about the Hotel Pitti Palace in Florence. Large, luxurious and perfectly positioned along from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. Restaurant was outrageously expensive, apparently, but then you don't have to eat there.
