Need advice for my holiday in Napflio, Peloponese

Hi ! I have just booked a holiday outside Napflion in the Argolid and I am really excited about going there. I know Mycenae and Epidavros are nearby, but another of the great joys in life is relaxing in the little villages, and eating in countryside tavernas. Does anyone have any recommendations for eating cheaply but deliciously in the area in or around Napflion ?

Does anyone have any comments on the Bapflion area that you think would be helpful ?

Also, does anyone know how long it would take to drive from Kalamata to Napflion ?

Grateful to hear from amyone with any tips ! Thank you for your help .

I have visited the area a few times and stayed in the seaside resort of Tolo which is 7km from Nafplio. Nafplio itself is a beautiful town - great for eating, drinking, wandering. If you have a car, you will discover plenty of small scenic places in the area. We drove down the coast and stopped at lots of nice places. We also took a trip to the island of Poros which is only a couple of hundred metres from the mainlkand at one point. This is a nice trip as Poros is a beautiful small island with narrow streets and small tavernas lining the harbour.

I can't tell you the time to travel by car as I have always taken the bus. If you have time you may want to drive down the penisula to Moumvassia, the Mani and/or take the car ferry to Elofonisos. It is a small island more known for its fishing and beautiful beaches than tourism.
