Online tours of UK palaces
I receive regular emails from Royal Collection Trust and thought some of you thwarted travellers might like to know they are holding online tours of some of the palaces in Britain, such as Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Details are on the website under What's On / Lectures and Talks. There is a small cost involved. It's not the same as being over there, we all know that. But at the moment, it might be as close as we can get.

Great information there, thanks.
Many years ago i was able to do a real life tour of Buck House with my then quite young DD. At the end of the extravaganza of gold, silver, velvet and damask we agreed that being brought up in such surroundings might have a permanent effect upon one's outlook on life. Events would appear to have proved us right.

Thanks KayF. Just realized I used to get e-mail newsletters and announcements from the Royal Collection Trust but haven't in several months. I'll have to follow up on it.
A change this year for the Buckingham Palace summer opening - besides the normal State Rooms and Garden tours - is a self guided visit to the gardens -- no guide or regimented group. And one can have a picnic on the lawn with food bought on site or bring your own.
