umretdd, thank you for your kind words, and I hope you get to visit Scotland soon. It is such a beautiful country! We weren't disappointed in any of the places we visited.
panecott, thank you for your compliments. I hope you can return to Scotland soon. As you know, the scenery will take your breath away. And I suspect that the food offerings and dining choices have greatly improved since the 70's. There is so much variety. And my husband and I are feeling better; we have tested negative for Covid for a week now.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, my daughter and her family who were living in Provence relocated to Dallas a few months ago for their jobs. A big move! So they are much closer to us. We live in MA so it's a 4-hour flight from Boston to DFW. When we visited them in France, we always had to change planes somewhere, so a much longer trip, of course. But we loved visiting France, and I will miss those trips.

So glad you made it.
your photos are such a good advert for our great food scene.
Camusdarach beach is such a special place. If you look down the beach (north) on your photo there’s two houses at the end - we tried to buy one just to the left of these two last year but it went wrong.
if you are over again , start the trail at Oban go over to The Outer Hebrides and then back down to Glasgow …..the seascapes on the zest coast match The Bahamas but the food/whiskey is better.

Good grief - I’m sat in France , on a London based VPN , on a British designed, American owned, Chinese manufactured iPad which is set to French keyboard layouts and French language whilst I’m writing English on an American forum.
The sum total of all that is that spell check tells people to buy the Irish stuff.
Sometimes I really must re-read the rubbish I type.
I blame Brexit.

Thé danger on the West coast of The English Lakes and The Scottish West Coast is the speed at which the weather changes. Chris Bonnington, who seen and climbed everything, dreads climbing some ridges in Britain.

Karen, been following along but haven't commented until now. Just wanted to say -- as usual -- your trip looked spectacular and I appreciate the photos and level of detail. Someday we will make it to Scotland, if I can get over my phobia around driving on the "other" side of the road!

KarenWoo,
I’m still in awe of your stunning photos and loved your trip report! And, having spent a year as an undergrad in Edinburgh and traveled through Scotland numerous times since, I don’t recall ever seeing such consistently beautiful weather! I have lots of memories of soggy clothes, dripping rain from head to toe, or foggy views! I can’t tell you how jealous I am😉!
Truly, you’ve done an amazing job in creating a fantastic itinerary in a stunning part of the world, and capturing it beautifully.
