Paris need help buying Giselle Ballet Tickets
Hello, I saw Christeena's message about buying tickets for an opera and followed some of the tips recommended, but I am still having trouble. I will be in Paris with a friend in October, and we wanted to see the ballet Giselle, which will be at the Opera Garnier most of that month. We would like to go Oct. 6, 7, or 8. I can't figure out if tickets are available and how you buy them. I did go to the web site for the Opera national and got an account number. But when I tried to proceed, it looked like the site was just offering season tickets. Can someone please advise on how I can buy individual tickets, if they are still available? And if you have recommendations on seats -- either good ones or what to avoid -- I'd be very grateful.

I bought tickets for Giselle about two weeks ago. When I went out to the website tonight, it appears that all performances in October have been sold out. I believe the only available date is September 24th (the only date that is in red on the calendar). I know you must be disappointed, but Paris always has a lot going on, and you will have many other entertainment options.

Keep checking every few days-- some tickets become available when subscriber exchange theirs. Also, a few of the cheap sections (partial view?) are not sold online, only at the box office-- when you arrive in Paris you can check to see of some of those are still available.

Thanks for your responses to the Ballet Giselle in October at the Opera.
It sounds like I should keep checking the web site a few times per week.
Can I get tickets the day of the performance and at what time?
Also, I'd like to be able to see the whole stage, so if someone has recommendations on seats, that would be great.
All the best, Emily

There is no guarantee you can get tickets the day of performance, but you can always try.
I can't keep the seat numbers straight in that venue, the numbering isn't normal that it makes sense where you can remember which are center, which are aisle, etc. You'll be lucky to even get tickets, it sounds like, rather than being able to choose. It is a small theatre, in any case, so any place in the orchestra is pretty good, unless it's way on the sides. If you buy them in person, you can always just look at the seating chart.
FNAC seems to have orchestra seats for 100 euro on Oct 6th at www.fnac.com

Thank you, Christina. I didn't know you could buy tickets at FNAC. I went to the web site but couldn't figure out how to find Giselle ballet tickets. I doubt we can pay 100 Euros, but I'd like to check out the site if you can provide any tips. Merci!
