A magnificent website, with both some magnificent photographs, and more important, some great tips for creating outstanding pictures in Paris!
Thanks for posting!

I'm sure you jest about ditching your camera. I know that pros can take great pictures, but taking them, and later viewing them, is a real source of pride. I take real lousy pictures. I have no sense of depth, color or whatever, but I take FOR ME, the world's greatest photos.

I agree Waldo. Gomiki, I don't take great photos but they are mine and what I wanted to see. so please keep on photographing.
There's always someone who writes better, takes better pictures, is better dressed, better looking, but are they as happy as we are

When people ask why I bother taking a certain picture, when I could buy a postcard which might be better, I offer this simple response: "But it wasn't my moment!"

This posting reminds me of something which happened to me. I have been going to Naples every year for the past seventeen years. When there, I have always taken a photo of the Bay of Naples, with Vesuvio in the background. I swear, I must have taken at least one hundred shots of the exact scene, standing in the same place every time. However, in 2004, I GOT IT!!!! The light was right, the clouds were just perfect, and the water was the right color illuminated by the sun. I took that negative and had it blown up to 20" by 30". It now is beautifully framed and hanging in my living room. No one believes that insignificant me took that photo!

Thanks for the web site. Excellent photos. By the way, we have been visiting Paris for over 30 years now and each time during our almost yearly visits we take the same picture of us standing on the Pont Alexandre III in the same spot. Over the years we have stayed the same but alas the bridge is aging.
