Please help with Iceland itinerary
We are a couple turning 60, have travelled a lot around the world (but never to Iceland), hate conducted tours, and love natural beauty and vistas. However, because of age catching up, we are not into strenuous hiking or other physically demanding forms of travel. We are lanning a week long trip to Iceland in late June 2018, before we board a Norwegian fjord cruise for 7 days from Amsterdam with a group of friends. The Iceland portion will be just for the two of us. We can rent a car and drive.
We arrive into Keflavik at around 3 pm on Day 1, and have an early morning flight to Amsterdam on Day 8. So that gives us 6.5 full days in Iceland. Have drawn up a very rough itinerary for starts - it requires a lot of refinement from you people. The itinerary below is only a starting point for discussion. Everything can be changed and is flexible.
Day 1 : Arrive at Keflavik airport at 3 pm afternoon. Rent a car. Drive to Reykjavic and check into hotel. Spend the afternoon roaming around the city. Night at Reykjavic.
Day 2 : Drive the Golden Circle route, covering Thingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gulfoss. Stop at Kerio Lake on return. Back to Reykjavic to explore the town in evening. Night at Reykjavic.
Day 3 : Drive to Snaefellsnes Peninsula (which places to focus on a day trip ?). Evening back to Reykjavic.
Day 4 : Drive to Vic, stopping at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Gljufrabui waterfalls and Skogafoss waterfalls. Can we also add a snowmobile trip to Myrdallsjokull (and also vsit its ice caves) ? Night at Vic.
Day 5 : Visit Reynishverfi Basalt Column Beach, Vic Black Sand Beach, Skaftafell National Park (for gentle hikes and ice caves). Night at Hofn.
Day 6 : Boat trip on Heinabergslon lagoon, Stokksnes, Jokulsarlon Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach. Night at Vic, or back at Hofn ??
Day 7 : Fjaorargljufur Canyon, Dyrholaey, Blue Lagoon. Night at Keflavik.
Day 8 : Early morning flight out.
Please critique and improve the above, including changes in places where we intend to spend our night stays. Look forward to your assistance.

I like your plan but suggest a few changes and ideas
1) I'd take the bus in from the Airport and for the first trip out I'd let a tour company take you (choose one of the small buses rather than a big coach), driving in June will be fine but it gives you a chance ot actually talking to a local for most of a day which is really interesting and see the key places near the capital through their eyes.
2) then hire a car and do the rest
3) is there sufficent snow in June? I don't know.
4) the days are very long, very long in June. I've been walking at 2pm and it is still daylight so enjoy.
5) I think you may be vegetarian, which will take up some time in this fish/meat eating country but it is doable, so if booking a hotel you need to check
6) you have no time planned for a spa visit, the country is big on spas so I'd recommend a chill out couple of hours somewhere, all the public ones I've been to are very clean and nice.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I have planned exactly as you have suggested - taking a transfer from airport into Reykjavic, and opting for a superjeep tour to Golden Circle the next day. Following that, everything in self-drive.
