Prague - Top 5-10 Prague and Vicinity Trip Highlights

OK...we have four days in Prague in November. Besides the shopping and inter-city sites, what other day-trips, diversions, tours, etc. would you recommend? We enjoy "seeing" vs. "sitting". Thanks for recommendations!!

My big rec is always to get on a local bus and get out of downtown into "non-tourist" areas and just start walking. Have a meal somewhere and get a better feel for what life in the city is for those who live there. People are often curious as to why you are where you are and you can meet some interesting folks.

Hi
I'm planning my own Prague visit for next March.
If you go elsewhere here at fodors.com (click on Destinations at the top of the page) you will find lots of basic info on Prague.
I'm also compiling my own file with info from many sources; if you'd like to see what I have, email me at
[email protected]

I also suggest a good guidebook.
So far I like the Insight guide best, good combination of history, pretty pictures, and practical info.

We recently returned from Prague, where we took a day trip with Wittman tours to Terezin (concentration camp initially used as model by Nazis to deceive Red Cross). I was reluctant to go, but I was glad I did, as it was quite a meaningful and informative tour.

Kutna Hora is a day trip from Prague. Very nice, a lovely town, as well as the very unusual bone church
