Provence: Villa Luberon in Robion, France?

Has anyone stayed at Villa Luberon in Provence, near Robion? Can you give me any comments, as well as good restaurants nearby?

If the photos on the web site are accurate, the villa looks VERY nice! You'll probably need to hear east to places like Ménerbes, Bonnieux, etc. for good restaurants; one we liked very much was just below Gordes, La Ferme de La Huppe (an inn with restaurant). Depending on when you'll be there, look for the wonderful melon from Cavaillon, not far from Robion. Cavaillon is also known for its breads.

There is a marvelous place called La Feniere just before Lourmarin on the road from Cadanet. I imagine that would be about an hour away. I have heard good reviews for Il Fornil in Bonnieux and the Auberge de la Bartavelle in Goult.

Nice restaurant at Moulin de Vernègues in Mallemort where we stay in the area. http://www.aix-en-provence.com/moulinvernegues/

Also enjoyed a nice little place nearby in la Roque-d?Anthéron called L?Artichouette.

In Charleval there is La Cherche-Midi beside the village church.

These last two are good but not terribly expensive. The staff are very friendly too.

It's a lovely area. Enjoy your trip!

Le Mas Tourteron, where chef/owner Elizabeth Bourgeois specializes in provencale cuisine, is in the tiny village of Les Imberts, not far from Robion, Gordes, etc.

Le Mas de Cure Bourse, just outside l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, is a hotel/restaurant where another woman, Patricia Donze, is the celebrated chef.

There is a wonderful boulangerie that bakes the best olive bread at the crossroads in Coustellet, also very near Robion. When we rented a gite near Gordes, sometimes we would make more than one trip a day to this bakery!

Grandmere,

Which bakery do you mean in Coustellet. I am a big fan of olive breads and drive by there pretty regularly... if it is that good, I feel obligated to try it out!

Well, Kevin, I should qualify my statement by saying that this was 10 yrs. ago; and I hope I am correct about Coustellet. Isn't that the little place that has a crossroads with a traffic light, en route from Robion to Gordes? Anyway, there was a very good bakery near that intersection; I'm thinking on the left, headed toward Gordes. ( Sounds as though I'm not very sure of any part of this story except that there was a delicious pain d'olive sold somewhere between Robion and Gordes!)

Grandmere,

No need to be sorry. As far as I am concerned, all grandmothers are entitled to a small memory lapse now and again (especially ten years after the event!). Coustellet is indeed the village at the light between Robion and Gordes. Also, has the best pure farmer's market in Provence, IMO. As for olive bread, I'll just have to try out all the bakeries, and then let you know.....
