Quality of Biking Cruises

Did anyone experience unusual vibrations throughout a Vikings river cruise traveling from Moscow to St Petersburg?

Hi,
No experience with Viking, but their Russian-owned DDR-built sister ships (proj 301/302) are known to have somewhat more noticeable vibration in stern middle deck staterooms (staterm. range 300- 306).
Nothing drastic, though - but it depends on what you are used to, and, I guess, how sensitive you are.

Thank you. I’m on the Viking ship right now and the motor rattling for the last two days has been excessive. I was wondering if this is typical.

Did you ask someone already? With the older and smaller ships, it can be a little noisier or vibrating slightly more. But if you feel uncomfortable talk to the crew about it. Are you enjoying your time? When will you be in St Petersburg?

I did speak to the crew and everyone has a different explanation. It is un settling to all the guests.

We we will be in St Petersburg in two days but unfortunately even when the ship is in dock the vibration in my stateroom is so bad I haven’t had much sleep. I’ve been falling asleep during the excursions and at night due to sheer exhaustion.

Oh my, other passengers are also noticing it. If it starts to interfere with you enjoying your cruise I would make a formal complaint. I am not much of a complainer but there is only so much you can handle. Ask the front desk if you can speak to someone in charge. Then just ask them point-blank. They at least owe you an explanation. Maybe they are a cabin available that has a little less rattling.
Anyway, that is what I would do.
