Review on Hotel Residence Foch

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Residence Foch? I need hot tips on requests and what I should expect for pricing. I think I am getting the run-around...

Where is this hotel? In Paris? In Corsica? I stayed at the Hotel Foch in Ajaccio, Corsica in September. If it is the same hotel you are referring to, I can give you my review of the property.

Hi lacross. If this is Paris, near Arc de Triomphe, and my memory serves me (1991), it's a nondescript hotel, staffed by non-French where the there was about six inches of space around the beds, sink was stopped up, and a shower so small that if you dropped the soap, you had to go out in the hall to bend over and pick it up. I also don't really care for the area but we got photos of all the dog-doo on the streets (residential) and had to pay for tiny plastic spoons at a tabac when we purchased some ice cream. It was part of a package so I can't give any advice on prices but I got the runaround from the staff about several things. Didn't ruin the trip; just didn't enhance it. Of course, that was a long time ago, maybe it's changed. Good luck.

It is in Paris and now I am nervous because of Shanna's response. I stayed at the Caron de Beaumarchais last time and loved it! The room was tiny but quaint. Residence Foch sounds like it is in a great location! What didn't you like about it?

My coworker and her husband stayed here last June. While my coworker felt that the hotel itself was good it was not extraordinary. The only regret she and her husband had was that itis in a residential district and so far from the main sights. So they had to use the metro all the time. It's in the 16th district. If location matters to you then stay elsewhere.

Hi!
I don'tknow the hotel Residence Foch, I've never gone there but I know an other hotel, less expensive and located in a very good area, next to the Eiffel Tower. You can visit their website if you want: Hotel Saint Dominique: http://www.saintdominique.com/index.html
I hope you'll have a good trip in Paris!

Hi lacross - as I said, the room was small, the bathroom micro-mini (not dirty but I didn't want to walk barefoot into it), sink flooded. When I asked to put my camera in the safe, the desk clerk looked at me as if I'd sprouted horns; it took some talking to get them to agree. They weren't welcoming or helpful; no directions or suggestions - years ago, as I said, maybe it changed. It is primarily an upscale residential area (there are some great restaurants and expensive shops nearby) but not near enough to anything interesting. I prefer Left Bank, arr. 5 or 6. If you feel you are getting the runaround, trust your instincts and look elsewhere.

The Hotel Residence Foch is now showing up as one of the most popular hotels in Paris , but judging from the reviews (although quite old) it does not sound good. Has the service and facilities improved ? Please can anyone help ?

Hotel Residence Foch has a new owner (within the last several years) and has been completely renovated. It is one of the top choices of TripAdvisor readers and deservedly so. It is in a beautiful section of Paris near the Arc de Triomphe a nd the Bois de Bolougne. It has very nice bedrooms and bathrooms and is nothing like the descriptions previously posted.
