It was terrific. His work is projected on all 4 walls and ceiling and floor with David narrating the entire time. It was crowded and we had to stand for awhile and then snagged some seats. People seem to come and go-we had 10:45 tickets and got there on time. The “show” goes on a continuous loop so you come in and watch and then leave when it goes around to when you entered. I went to the Van Gogh show years ago in Paris that, I think, was the beginning of the total immersion/light projection of an artist’s work that has become popular. King’s cross area was interesting especially seeing the canal boats that people seemed to be living on.

We’ve just finished up 3 days in London and stayed in the Convent Garden area. This trip was more about going back to some of our favorite restaurants and adjusting to time change for my husband's work week in Paris, so we didn’t do much touristy stuff. Saw an amazing David Hockney show in King’s Cross area and I walked to Liberty’s and all through Regent street shopping and through Chinatown. The British museum was about 10-15 minutes away and Westminister Abbey probably a 20 minute walk. You’re right next to theatre district and a pretty easy walk down to the Thames and Globe Theatre, London eye and Tate Modern. I do love the Victoria and Albert museum in Kensington but didn’t get to it this trip. We stayed in Kensington many years ago but I now prefer something a bit more central.

Just reading through this delightful trip report again as we plan our trip for next April! I really love your style of traveling and your beautiful photographs and your witty and thorough descriptions and observations are so entertaining. I think we will spend 3 nights in the Cotswolds or more and do some side trips from there. Do you have a recommendation for what town to base in? It is always the tough balance of being big enough to walk into town and have a few shops and restaurant choices, but not be a busy, frantic tourist hub. We will use public transportation, a private driver and maybe rent a car for 48 hours, also. After Ireland, my husband does not want to spend as much time behind the wheel. Thanks!
Macdogmom, I had to get a Bitter Feast after your reference and loved it, thanks! I am now I am working my way through the series. I especially love the charming pencil drawn maps.It is ironic that I just finished Necessary as Blood, covering Spitalfields and Brick Lane and zebec's last trip report covers that area!

Not the OP but for your Cotswold base you might want to check Burford (my favorite), Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold and maybe Broadway. Each is a 'real' town with multiple shops,, restaurants/pubs, plus are well located for touring aroun

Janisj, thank you so much!
I will start my own thread with more questions as I plan. There were quite a few trip reports from the spring (including yours!) that were so helpful and had such fantastic photos, I need to comb through them all again.

Coral22–so glad Janisj replied as she knows WAY more than I. I will say I would have recommended Stow on the Wold or Broadway but she gives multiple options for you. Enjoy your trip.

Oh -- I had missed macdogmom's reference to Deborah Crombie way up thread. I have every one of her Duncan Kincaid books - I get annoyed when there is such a delay between new books I mean really, we're waiting out here. She is from Texas but I don't think I've ever found a geographic detail or neighborhood description the least bit 'off'.
You might also check out the Elizabeth George Inspector Lynley series.

Thank you for the trip report, I really loved reading it, it's very inspiring. The title really caught my eye, that's a great one. All of the photos look really amazing. I hope I'll get to go on a similar trip soon, because right now I'm sitting at home bored all day.
