' but we only have so many dinners in 7 days'
I know - such a problem! >>

but you can add in lunch - we find that we do so much walking in Rome that we can eat lunch as well!

Hi neighbor - I live in Savannah and obviously use that airport whenever we travel and I have to say I've never had that kind of luck on a flight! I'm sorry that I didn't see this report at the time you were writing as I would have liked to see your photos as well. (Link doesn't work any more). My only excuse was that at the time I was haunting the United Kingdom board for an upcoming trip. Now Rome is on the agenda for this fall so I enjoyed reading about your experiences - and you made me late for work this morning!! Thanks.

Hi LowCountryIslander, Thank you for your excellent account of food in Rome! We are going with our kids in late December. One question - how did you like your hotel? Thanks!

Hi Pak0five...

We like the Albergo del Senato very, very much. In fact, we've stayed there 3 times and think the location is perfect for us and we find the staff there to be very friendly and accommodating to our requests.

Thank you LowCountryIslander. We ended up booking Hotel Campo di Fiori because they could put our three kids in the room right next to us. Senato looks amazing - next time! Now I need to re-read your posts to decide where to make reservations. Also if you have any ideas where we could do a pizza making lesson with our kids in Rome, please do advise! Thanks again.

Pak0Five...

I'm sorry I don't have any information about pizza making lessons in Rome, but you may want to check out the Elizabeth Minchilli in Rome blog, she may have an article about those types of classes.

You may also want to read my trip report from October 2013 where I spent a week in Abruzzo and then a week in Rome. Half way through the trip report is the Rome section where I talk about more restaurants in Rome. Here's a link to the report:
