Just an update on where we stayed http://www.vrbo.com/449757. Could not have been a better location for first timers in Rome. Having a place for 10 days was ideal!
This turned out to only be a one bedroom, not two as advertised Though there are two seperate rooms, one large with two beds (or a couch) and the other with a bed/couch but is in the same room as the kitchen. It turned out fine but the whole exercise of looking for two bedrooms went to waste. My understanding is that the truth is often stretched with the Italian landlords, but I only had pictures to go on since we were one of the firsts to stay, so I fell for it.
I would definately stay in or near that area again, and even in that flat.

Hi Macswim,
that's interesting about your apartment only being one bed - out of interest I looked at some of the reviews on the website and found that they definitely refer to its having 2 bedrooms - strange!
glad that you enjoyed it nevertheless.
BTW I was sorry that we missed each other - I very stupidly forgot to take your e-mail address with me!

I love both areas but Campo Fiori is more centrally located to many other locations in Rome. I love walking around Rome and trying all the local foods. One of my favorite spots to visit is the Trastevere and trying the many food venues there is amazing. Here are some of the highlights of my visit there including some wonderful food stops http://travelphotodiscovery.com/tras...d-local-foods/
