Saint Malo when it shivers anybody?

I made a whirlwind visit within the walls of Saint Malo this week. The day was ending, so I didn't get a chance to photograph the brilliant impression of white walls that one gets there, but not everybody will get to visit at an ideal time either.

So if you are interested in a quick tour of Saint Malo at twilight, here it is: http://tinyurl.com/29whp9l

Thanks for the great photos. Would love to go there. We like anything WW1 or WW2 related. Very interesting.

These photos were amazing. You captured day and night very well, of course, but the sunset photos were breathtaking, and the juxtaposition of the "old photos" of the effects of the bombing with the "current day" photos were tremendous.

Thank you,
BC

Lovely photos.

I sometimes pretend in the interest of research that I haven't eaten a waffle in years but surely 15 years must be an exaggeration or a typo!

They're all good, but those night photos are stunning. I never thought about going there, but you make it look interesting.

Photos of food? Merci, Kerouac. Now you're getting into the swing of it----for some of us, that is.

I'm curious---were you born in France?

I don't think any place in the world that needs to use massive amounts of whipped cream does it by hand.

Gorgeous pictures, Kerouac. I was in Brittany 2 years ago, and drove into St. Malo one day. I was staying near Dinan. I got so confused around St. Malo (re parking and everything else) that I never made it! Just turned around and decided to forget it. I never made it up to the walls. Your pictures showed me what I missed - those sunset pictures were truly stunning.

Thanks once again for a wonderful peek of a French city and an interesting tale. I laughed at your description of eating the waffle. Sorry, I know it is no fun to have whipped cream all over one's clothes, but your story was great!

thanks!

Eleven years later, this report even looked new to me.
