Scotland Itinerary for May-June
My husband and I are planning a 14 Day trip to Scotland this May-June. I have posted the itinerary below. Please give input as we have traveled in the UK but have only been to Edinburgh as far as the Scotland portion is concerned.
Day 1: Edinburgh
Day 2: Edinburgh/Glasgow
Day 3: Glasgow
Day 4: Inverary OR Oban
Day 5: Mull and Iona
Day 6: Fort William
Day 7: Skye
Day 8: Lewis/Harris
Day 9: Thurso with an excursion to Skara Brae
Day 10: Inverness
Day 11: Inverness/Loch Ness
Day 12: Pitlochry
Day 13: St. Andrews
Day 14: Edinburgh
Please give input.
Many Thanks.

Not trying to be rude here - but personally I would HATE this itinerary. One night stand after one night stand after one night stand. And the only place you DO stop for 2 days is Inverness which about the least charming town you could find.
Are all those "days" also where you are staying the night?
If it were me, I'd cut the number of stops nearly in half and spend a bit more time exploring.

I assume you are driving.
My first thought is that that is a fairly comprehensive coverage of Scotland. My second thought is that there is so much travelling that all you will see is roads and traffic. My third thought is that doing Skye/Harris and Lewis/Thurso/Orkney and getting back to Inverness all in four days is nigh on impossible (unless you have fully checked ferry times for Western Isles and Orkney).
Scotland is quite a big country. Roads are reasonable now but many of them are not fast. I suspect you are being over-ambitious.
What do you hope to achieve in this trip? What are your interests?

It's very crowded. I wouldn't do it, but only ou can say whwther it'll work for you.
I'd lose Lewis and at lease one day in Inverness. Probably Pitochry too; and I'd then add a day in the west, one in the east and one in Orkney. Actually that's what I'd do if I were you. Being me I'd not even START with this.

That was my first thought. I couldn't agree more. If you want to go see Orkney, go to Orkney and stay over there, at least long enough to soak up some atmosphere and not just buzz in and out from Thurso, which is -- how shall I put it? -- not in the same class as Stromness or even Kirkwall.
