Seat reservations on German trains

Hi All
We will be travelling from Salzburg to Munich and are looking at using the Bayern ticket (there will be 4 adults). My question is can you reserve seats in 2nd class or if you booked 1st class are seat reservations included? Not sure how it works as I believe it will be a regional train. Any suggestions about trains are most welcome.

Thank you

The Bayern ticket is only valid on regional trains; I don't think it's even possible to reserve seats on regional trains.

Be aware that the Bayern ticket is only valid after 9 am on weekdays and from midnight on weekends.

Trains run from Munich to Salzburg every 90 minutes. I doubt you'll have trouble finding a seat, I never have.

Melnq8 is right, you can't reserve seats on regional trains. With other tickets (for example ICE tickets) it's not automatic that you get seat reservations; when you are booking seats there is an option that you click on to buy seat reservations along with your ticket. You can actually buy them separately if you need to.

It's usually OK on the regional trains. They are crowded when school gets out!
