Seville , Cordoba and Granada - help planning itinerary

Hi..we plan to take the train to Seville from Madrid and spend 3 nights there. WE are debating how to cover Cordoba and Granada- please advise.(travelling with a toddler) 1. Stop at Cordoba for the day on way to Seville or stay overnight in Cordoba and leave next morn for Seville? 2. Stay 3 nights in Seville and then head(train/bus) to Granada for full day and overnight trip or do a day trip to Granada.

WE fly back from Madrid so will be taking the train back to Madrid from Granada or Seville.

Thanks a lot.. p.s This forum is a life-saver :0)

Seems to me that the easiest and most direct way to see Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada is to leave Madrid early and stop in Cordoba on the way to Sevilla, spend 3 nights in Sevilla and then leave early for Granada, staying overnight there before returning to Madrid.
Our experience is that the Mezquita in Cordoba and the Alhambra in Granada are incredible and must be seen but that otherwise those two cities are not nearly as interesting as Sevilla, which is a wonderful place to spend several days.

I agree with the previous poster. If you check the rail and bus schedules you will see you can do the AVE high speed to Cordoba and then on to Seville when you are ready to go. The trip from Seville to Granada is on the slow train so be prepared for a long relaxing trip.

I agree also with the others. You can take a morning train from Madrid, stop in Cordoba for 4 or 5 hours, and get to Sevilla in time for dinner. Spend the next 3 days there, then train to Granada, spend a night there before heading back to Madrid.

It is really too far to daytrip to Granada from Sevilla (3 hour drive, 4 hour train trip, I believe), especially with a toddler, I would imagine.

The trip by train from Seville to Granada takes three hours. There are about four direct trains daily. You can check schedules at www.renfe.com and then click on the English (British flag) version for timings.

I didn't want to start a new thread on this as it looks like there are a couple already on it.

Like, travelwannabee, my fiance and I are looking to take a trip to spain. Unfortunately due to work I'm guessing we'll only be able to go a week. I'm mostly looking at Madrid/Seville and we can actually fly into madrid and out of Seville for not much more than just Madrid.

Stopping in Cordoba on the way to Sevilla sounds good, so that's one day, how should we split the other 5 days?
