Similar to London Walks' Explorer Days?

Is there an outfit in London that offers a service similar to London Walks' Explorer Days? Unfortunately, our limited free days to do day trips out of London do not coincide with the Explorer Days. We could do the trips on our own, but prefer to go with a group.

There is nothing like London Walks - which are very low cost and don't try to bite off too much in a day. Most day trips from London are commercial tours by motor coach, cost a fortune, and are very rushed.

Where do you want to go? Some places like Bath or Oxford or Cambridge have very good walking tours you can take after traveling to the city on your own.

Or they also have hop-on-hop-off bus tours - though the Oxford and Cambridge ones are not that good. Bath and Stratford have better H-o-H-o tours that also get you a bit out of the centers - or in the case of Stratford to nearby villages for Anne Hathaway's cottage and Mary Arden's house.

We've been to Bath and Stonehenge (bus tour, which we'd rather not do) and are planning to do two or three day trips. Windsor, Cambridge, Oxford, Winchester and the Cotswolds. We can definitely travel to the city on our own. We might be able to make it for the Cotswolds in Summer tour of London Walks.

>>Windsor, Cambridge, Oxford, Winchester and the Cotswolds<< is more than 2 or 3 days trips.

each of those is a full day by themselves. And the Cotswolds isn't the sort of area easy to manage as a day trip by public transport.

Sorry, I didn't finish my sentence! I meant those places are currently on the list of choices. We plan to visit only one place for the day. I think joining the walking tours once we get to the city will be the best way to go.

Evans do them - at considerably greater cost.
