South of France - TR in Pictures
I don't do the typical TR... just post my photos with some captions and the name of each location on the first photo of each location,
Hope you enjoy!
If you have specific questions, I will be happy to answer but I don't get into "number of nights I spent in each location, how I traveled (mostly rental car), how much I spent on meals, etc,". Do not care for the comments of those that do not travel like I do... so I will leave it at a minimal report.

That was some trip, joannyc! It took DH and me 3 or 4 to cover what you did in one. Good job.
A weird thing occurred though. When I backed to your 'home' my google blogspots appeared. Any idea how that could have happened?

Thanks very much, everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed the pics! It was a great trip albeit hot, hot, hot!
TDudette, not sure why you were taken to a blogspot.com page when hitting the Home link but guessing it is because you are logged into Google so it took you to your Home page, not mine. I had not even heard of blogspot before your post. ;-)

Where was the first picture of going through the locks?
We are flying out of Nice next year and are debating between spending 3 days in Nice or St Paul de Vence. Any thoughts? I've read a couple of places that St Paul de Vence is really crowded with tourists. We will be there late May, early June.
Loved the pics of the different carousels.

Thanks very much, Adelaidean and topeater!
The 1st lock pictures were taken in Toulouse on a canal tour boat I took. It was beautiful with the bridges and light coming through the trees!
I think I would prefer to stay in Nice and daytrip to St. Paul de Vence, which is what I did. I think I would be bored in SPdV for 3 nights, it is very small but very cute! It wasn't that terribly crowded in SPdV the day I was there and I believe it was a Sunday so somewhat surprising. Maybe the heat kept everyone away! ;-)
I had 5 nights in Nice and didn't get to every place I wanted to see, e.g., Eze, etc.

Looks like you had yet another fabulous trip, joannyc - thanks so much for sharing your pictures! Some of those shots were absolutely magnificent! You brought back some very fond memories of Toulouse and Albi, and (of course) added to my interest in seeing other parts of southern France. I look forward to the next time I get to follow in your footsteps.

Denmal and Micheline, thanks very much!
It was a great trip albeit too, too hot! ;-)
I was there for 4 weeks and had to cross a couple of things off my itinerary. I could have used another few days or so.
I highly recommend such a trip but I always go somewhere new each year so I would not do it again... until my bucket list is completed!
Thanks again!
