St. Anton - lookin for accommodations

Hello,

We would like to find some nice accommodations for our family of 4 (with two teenage boys) in the Arlberg area – St. Anton, St. Christoph, Lech. A ski-in/ski-out place would be ideal, and we prefer to have something with half-board. Does anyone have any recommendations of hotels, resorts, chalets, etc?

Hi Travfirst:

The one and only time I skied in Lech I had stayed at a nice 4 star property called Kirsberg(sp?. It was run my the great Austrian skier Egon Zimmermann. (1960 Olympic Gold Medal. Downhill)

Very good prices and location. A short walk to the gondola lift and near bus that will take you to the other areas!

I had the 2 meal plan and it is the way to go!

If interested I will dig up the complete name and address

John

We skied Lech/Zurs last season and stayed at Gasthof Schloessle in Oberlech. Ski-in/ski-out with half board at what I thought was a very reasonable price. Well-run property with a great sunny location.

St. Christoph is a pure ski-village and has only 4 upper class hotels. There are no other activties possible than skiing. All 4 hotels are ski-in/ski-out hotels.

Lech is very family friendly. Very special are accomodations in Oberlech. This part of Lech is car-free and you can access the hotels with help of a Gondola. Nearly 100% of these resorts are ski-in/skiout style.

St. Anton attracts a lot of young people and offers lot's of Apres ski activties. The slopes are more suited for advanced skiers and offer good opportunities for skiing outside the skiresort boundries (with very high avalange risk). The number of ski-in/ski-out accommodations is limited. You will need the car, bus or have to walk. The rates for accommodation can be a little lower in St. Anton,if you do not stay in the key-area.

FlyFish and Tom, thank you for the helpful information.
Both Lech and St. Anton sound incredible. We should finalize our plans in the next few days (flight reservations on hold until Sunday).
