Suggestions for a brief time on Capri

As part of a day-long boat tour we are going to have 4 hours on Capri. What might we reasonably expect to be able to do and see in that period? I know it will be crowded, and I know it is barely enough time, but it is what it is. We are happy to have this time, and hope we will return on another trip.

Try to get a taxi to Anacapri and take the chair lift up to the top.

I'm not sure if you have time, but if you bypass all the shops in Capri and head straight to Anacapri, you might be able to fit it in and get back to your boat in time. At the very least, try to get to Anacapri to see some of the beauty of the island away from the crowds.

We did pretty much the same thing - took a boat tour and had about 4 hrs on Capri. We took the funicular from the marina to Capri and then right away took the bus that goes to Anacapri. (a thrill ride in itself).

We just walked around in Anacapri and had lunch. Had wanted to do the chair lift up to Mt. Solaris but it was pouring rain and they closed it.

Some other posters will have better ideas of things to do but - it is doable to see a few things in that timeframe.

My cousins were on a cruise and had a quick trip to Capri. They took the funicular up to Capri Town, and then went on a walk/hike that they said was spectacular. I'm not sure what this walk was, but they loved it and thought it was a great use of their time. They are out of town, but I can ask her where she got the information for the walk, if you are interested.

When I was on my daughter's school trip, many years ago, we had lunch, most shops were closed, but we hit a few, and the perfume factory as well as some nearby ruins.

IMO you won't have enough time to go to Anacapri and take the Monte Solaro lift.

A much better idea would be to take the fabulous "Via Tragara walk" not far from the center of Capri town.

TuckH: Yes, that is the walk my cousins took. Thank you for the link.

We are going to Capri ourselves in May, and I will take that info with me.
