Teacher discounts in Ireland?
Hello all! My husband is a teacher, and I'm wondering if major attractions in Ireland offer discounts to teachers. Most likely Dublin would be the only place where this is a possibility, but any advice is appreciated!

Never heard of any discounts for teachers unless they were linked to say a local university and students and staff from there got a discount.

Students and teachers are eligible for discounts at *some* places... You'll need official proof, though.

There are a few senioe discounts and vbenefits for seniors over 65 but you must be resident (My parents are annoyed they can't get this as they were born here!) I still do not think the teacher travel card means anything here as my pals are teachers and I have never heard them mention anything about teacher discounts.

FWIW, Frommers Ireland From $80 A Day says, "A range of travel discounts are available to students, teachers (at any grade level, kindergarten through university), and youths (ages 12 - 25). Most attractions have a reduced student-rate admission charge, with the presentation of a valid student ID card."
I'm hoping that means a valid ID card from the school they attend (or, possibly for your husband, the school where he teaches). We're only going to be there 5 days so really can't see the value in spending $50 to get ISE or ISIC cards for our two kids.
IrishEyes, is there any way to find out what places are included in the Ireland At A Glance coupons? I checked the website for the Heritage Card and found that there are very few places included in the area where we'll be traveling. Am wondering whether it would be the same for Ireland At A Glance.
