Tentative Itinerary for France/Belgium/NE/Germ/CZ trip

Some of you have helped me already, but I am getting to the crux of my trip planning and want to see what some of you think of the tentative schedule for my late Mar/early April trip.

Right now it is for 20 full days. Start in Paris (4 nights--5days), head to Brugge (1 night---two days), head to Amsterdam (3 nights---four days), head to Berlin (3 nights--four days), then to Prague (4 nights---5 days)...head back to Paris either by Train or one way flight).

Questions-
A) is it doable...I am 31, travelling alone and plan on getting a train pass). I will do a couple of overnight trips on the train.

B) are the nights and day broken down to give a nice taste of each place? If not, suggestions?

C) should I cut or replace a city, or even cut some days and add a city?

D)Berlin....or Frankfurt (or even Munich)...i have gotten different opinions.

E) Brugge...or Brussels (or can you do both in 1 night two days (ie. a stop over type deal in one city on the way to Amsterdam.)

Thanks gang...this board is a wealth of knowledge that I can use right now!

I am also looking for info on a solid meal...in each city. I am going to have one fairly expensive meal in each city I hit. To compare, I work at a Top 20, three star restaurant in Boston. I am still a little confused on the Michelin ratings.

pmgoosed,

You have inadvertently (I am supposing) added your days & nights up incorrectly. You have a total of 15 nights listed along with 20 days.

May I suggest that you place in your travel days/overnights, so that others may see the correct availability of days for touring.

pmgoosed; everyone is confused by Michelin ratings. Last week the new Michelin for the Benelux was presented, and promptly recalled again. They had included a restaurant that had not even opened when the guide was being printed, with the comment the the food was very good. Makes you think about the accuracy!

One full day in Brugge would be enough for me, then you could stop in Brussels on your way to Amsterdam. Other people might nog agree with this.

Unless you are very keen on traveling by train, I would fly from Amsterdam to Berlin.

Hi pm,

A. Of course. More traveling than I would do, but that's just me.

B&C. I would add 4 days to Paris (2 daytrips), 3 days to Amsterdam (2 daytrips), 2 days and a night in Brussels. Save Berlin and Prague for another trip.

Fly into Amsterdam and out of Paris. Save the best for last.

Enjoy your trip.

PS,

Before you buy a railpass, enter your itinerary at www.railsaver.com. Click the "only if it saves me money" button.

You can get very good discounts on the Brugge or Brussels to Paris portion of your trip purchasing online 60 days in advance at http://www.voyages-sncf.com/
