Tickets for Wicked in London
We're going to be in London April 9-12 and want to see Wicked at the London Apollo Theatre. Tickets online are 60 GBP. Wondering if we should just buy them now or risk trying to get cheaper tickets when we're there. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Wicked is not always available at TKTS and is still drawing good numbers. But sometimes it is offered. If it isn't at TKTS you can buy tix at the theatre box office - and save the on-line booking fee.
But if you want to book ahead, the very best seats are £60, but there are several other prices bands in the theatre.

Just another possibility (although I wouldn't do this if you have your heart set on Wicked). We got tickets late in the day at one of the regular brokers at Leicester Square (not the TKTS booth) -- it was Saturday about 3:00, and we didn't want to go to the theater that night, so we got tickets for Monday. Face value 60 £. We paid 40 £ each (for excellent seats - I think Row M or N of the orchestra)

sf7307 had good luck at one of the ticket brokers -- but that is a rarity. The majority of tix sold at the storefront ticket sellers around Leicester Sq are either above face value or have an "issue" such as partially restricted view or such.
You might luck out too - but you should go armed knowing 1) what the real seat prices are, and 2) the seat maps of the various theatres.
TKTS (the stand-alone bldg) in Leicester Square is the only official 1/2 price ticket booth. The other are for-profit ticket agencies. Be forewarned.

I bought a Wicked ticket a couple of years ago from one of the non-TKTS agents around Leicester Square. £19, in one of the balconies, view was fine. Maybe we got lucky, but it worked out fine for us (though as janis said, knowing what the actual prices are will help you make sure you're not completely ripped off). However, if you do have your heart set on Wicked, I'd pre-book.
