Haven't stayed in Toulouse lately, but these two hotels are completely different; historic style boutique versus 1930's style boutique. Both are well located and receive decent reviews, but it may come down to price and availability.

We have stayed in both of these wonderful hotels. Great locations. If I were going back to Toulouse, I believe I would choose Le Grand Hôtel de L'Opera. It just felt more "French." You could not go wrong with either one!

Myer, we also took a Toulouse walk with a guide named Penny. It was very informative and quite fun. If you click on my name, you will find her contact in my 2011 Trip Report. I know she still does give tours!

Thanks for the responses.
I have a reservation at l'Opera. I'll check out Balcon just to see if there's a big difference either way in price.
Kansas,
I'll check out you report though we usually do quite well on our own. Maybe time for a change.
