We will be traveling to Europe for the first time this summer. We will be flying into Zurich and then plan on taking the train into Italy to Lake Como. <BR>What is the best way to get to the train station from the airport? What website do I use to check train schedules to Lake Como, Italy? <BR>Thanks!

Hello Faye, <BR>It is extemely easy! <BR>There is a train station IN the airport. <BR>The train goes to the central train station in Zurich (Hauptbahnhof). <BR>From there you have trains to all parts of Switzerland (and Europe). <BR>Have a wonderful trip, <BR>Ada

faye, <BR>As the others have told you, there is a train station at the airport, making your transfer extremely easy. Now as for train schedules, there are many websites. One of my favorites is www.rail.ch, which is the Swiss Rail website. Go to "Travel/Timetables," then input your day of travel and approximate time of departure (be sure to enter "Zurich airport" as your departure station). You'll see that the trip to Como takes 4:10 hours and requires a change at the main train station at Zurich. You can buy your tickets at the windows at the train station under the airport terminal. Another website to check schedules is www.bahn.hafas.de/bin/query/exe.en, which is the English-language section of the German train system. <BR> <BR>Good luck! <BR> <BR>s

The train station at the Zürich airport is easy to reach from the baggage area as the others have stated. It is one level below a shopping area that includes a food store with high quality produce and other grocery store items. <BR>There is also a branch bank in the vicinity, also. <BR>Some of the trains go directly to a major destination from the airport without a change. <BR>For Italy, you will need to change at the main station. But the change should keep you within the same platform area. <BR>(The Zurich Hauptbahnhof is divided; when we went from Interlaken to Salzburg we had to change areas of the station, but there was difficulty in doing it, at least not for people with two normal legs and arms.) <BR> <BR>
