Train or Car from Milan to Florence

Which is easiest/least stressful for arriving in Milan and trying to get to Florence? (We're traveling with two little ones.)
1. Rent a car at the Milan airport and bypass Milan and drive somewhere for the night before going down to Florence.
2. Take the shuttle to Centrale Station to get train to Florence?

Thanks!!!

i would think that a train would be better. ssince you do not know the roads and the city of firenze is somewhat difficult to naavigate and you have 2 little ones do the train, its easier on all

The Gastons:

So sorry, my mistake!

The previous thread was whether you should go directly to Florence (which I had the impression you had decided to do, rather than spend a night elsewhere).

This thread is about how to do it most easily.

My apologies!

Hello Gastons, I too would take the shuttle to the Central Station in Milan and then take the train to Florence. With two little ones I think this would be the most relaxing for everyone.
