Hi! I think I will be traveling to rome by car via the florence route. My hotel in rome is near the train station. I was thinking about leaving my car at a train station outside of rome and taking the train into rome proper. What train station is outside of rome that would be convienent to park my car at and take the train into rome. Thanks

I don't believe Italian train stations, other than the airport station, go in for parking lots that are secured. How far out ot Rome did you mean?

I'm not too worried about the train station parking being secure. Its a rental that will be empty. The reason I want to park outside of rome is b/c I heard the traffic in rome was bad. A station or 2 outside of Rome was what I was thinking

I have parked at the Orvieto station and gone into Rome , less than an hour away by train.<BR>Be sure to go up the funicular and see the cathedral in Orvieto.

Denise, The answer is Orvieto. About an hour north of Rome and a wonderful destination itself. The big parking lot is next to the station, but take the funicular into town as well.
