Venice--Marco Polo Airport Question

We will be flying out of Venice at the end of our trip, and was just wondering how the airport was in terms of long lines, organization, etc. so we can figure out how far in advance of our flight we need to be there.
Thanks.

I will be in the same situation. I was told a minimum of 2 hours for a Saturday flight at 10am...

Hi almes,

Two hours should be OK. Be safe with 2 1/2.

We gave ourselves two hours or so for a 10 a.m. flight and had no problem. The airport did not seem to be that large, IMO. We did allow for about a half hour taxi ride to the airport, though.

There is a shuttle bus that takes you to the actual airport once you arrive at the pier, but you can also hire some private guys that are there. We went with the private ride just to save time, but bear in mind that you can wait for the shuttle bus and come out cheaper.

Thanks all, that's about what I figured. We have a noon flight, so we'll probably leave the hotel around 9, planning on taking a water taxi, which should get us there about 2 1/2 hours before flight. Better safe than sorry (although I could think of worse places to miss a flight and be stranded!)

The airport itself is very small and easy to find your way around. They do have a website, so you can look at the layout and get a feel for where you are going. www.veniceairport.it (click on the British flag for English)
