Now that we are on this subject, I will mention another place I like which does not get discussed here too often:
Alla Vecchia Bettola on Piazza Tasso
Like most of my favorites, this is on the south side of the river.
If you want to slog through lots of details about food, take a look at my report from 2006; Florence is in the middle of the week and I mention meals at Cambi and Il Guscio:
