Where to meet traveling companions at Heathrow?

Hello,
I am arriving on American Airlines from Chicago at 9:30 am and my friends are arriving from New York on Delta at 10:00am. We have BritRail passes into London. Could someone please suggest a meeting point at the airport?
Many thanks,
jane

The American flight will arrive at Terminal 3. The Delta flight will arrive at Terminal 4. I know Terminal 3 pretty well but not Terminal 4 at all. On that basis I would choose the Hertz rental car counter Terminal 3, it's near the exit doors and out of the way of the initial crush of people meeting arriving passengers. You walk straight ahead as you come through the doors after baggage claim. There is also a coffee shop or bar or two in the public area of arrivals at T3 they could wait in (the entire public area at arrivals at Te is not that big).

If I knew T4 better I would suggest something like that there as you arrive first and could use the difference in time to travel to T4 to meet them.

Or, given that flights might be late, immigration might take longer than you expect, etc. etc., meet at your hotel, usually a nicer place to hang around near than the airport.

Heathrow actually has "official meeting points" listed on their site. On a recent trip to London, my family and I took advantage of this so all 6 of us could meet. Shuttles were readily available and easy to find so we all met up at Terminal 3.

Hope this helps.

The problem is, T3 is miles away from T4.

Since you're the one traveling alone and the one arriving earlier, I guess you should be the one to trek to T4 to meet them (via Heathrow Connect).

Good idea. The trip between terminals is just a few minutes.
