Which airlines provide personal video screens in the headrests for economy class? (Intercontinental flights from San Francisco to Europe.)<BR>I flew SFO to Hong Kong last fall via Cathay Pacific and the continuous entertainment sure made a really long flight feel a lot shorter! <BR>

British Airways, for one--just got back from a round trip Chicago to London. They had some problem with the entertainment system on the way there (after one movie, all we could get was the map channel), but on the return trip I watched two movies, a bunch of sitcom reruns, and some cartoons. I agree; it really made the trip seem shorter.

many lines are converting to seat-back video. Virgin was first to have them throughout their fleet. Now some or all planes on several transatlantic airlines have them.

Some USAirways flights to Europe, on airbus. Eg, PIT to LGW, PHL to FRA.

Virgin Atlantic has them, really makes the flight a more pleasant experience. I know some others have them in economy now, but they were the only ones for quite awhile before them to have it. Believe they have 6-8 movies, US and British TV shows (mostly sitcoms), music TV, cartoons, travelogues, etc., plus Nintendo games.

Wow: Lots of responses in a very short time, I'm impressed. Keep them coming! <BR>I was checking flights recently and neither Lufthansa nor Delta offer the personal videos. Any others?

Virgin and British Airways are two that I'm aware of. Although, like Julie, I also experienced a complete breakdown of the entertainment system about 2 hours out of Melbourne en route to Singapore recently. The flight attendants tried repeatedly to re-set it but gave up in some frustration in the end. The indication I got then was that it wasn't that rare an occurence. Fortunately the technicians fixed it in Singapore for the 12+ hour leg to London.

US Airways has them on their intercontinental Airbuses (the A-330, I think). The selection on my flight to and from the U.S. in May was excellent--A.I., Harry Potter, Traffic, and a few other movies that I didn't watch. Other airlines also have them, but what I didn't like with some of them is that you had to wait for the movie to start again, whereas with US Airways, they booted up immediately after you request it. Also several TV shows like Friends, etc. The inflight entertainment system *almost* made up for the horribly turbulent flight and the ridiculously long lines to go through passport control at Phila Airport.

We flew USAirways from Phil. to CDG and London/Gatwick to CLT, both flights on Airbus. Had choice of 9 movies on personal screens. Since we have two kids, that was great for them.<BR>PamB

Some Delta flights do have the personal video screens. Depends on routing.

American Airlines. I had my own screen but the movies were shown on a schedule, in other words, you could select a movie but had to wait until it started on the schedule.

depends on the age of the plane. Went from LAX to Sydney and had them. Coming back, older plane and no TV screens. (Qantas)
