bilboburgler egotistical? I don't think so.

Bilbo is great.
Belongs to the normal people. The ones who don't explode and are kind. Like Kja janisj myriam and some. |
I can't believe Fodor's uses a part time tech company. You mentioned "outside of Fodor's" which gave me that impression. The Koreans are winning, mkataoka!!

Nope -- maybe you missed the announcement last summer that IB purchased Fodors. IB runs FlyerTalk among others. http://www.fodors.com/press-room/pre...nternet-brands |

Thanks for explaining. I work in IT, and know how projects get prioritized, with limited resources. Hope you can put the change in soon.
|
Is it that hard to do a blanket block on all Korean IP addresses until a better solution arrives?
|
The problem with not prioritising this is that the participation on this board is down anyway. This issue is compounding the problem and you run the risk of completely losing the contributors. Especially your regular European users. I have been a regular poster here for 13 years and I am seriously considering giving it up because it is useless during most of my day.

Yes, so am I. This is too annoying. I will look back in after a while to see whether the administrators have finally found a solution for the problem. Until then, have a good time everyone. |
Sigh. As soon as I found a pleasant forum to talk and I planned to stay (Fodors), so did the spambots.
If it's in my power, I'll block all those Korean IP temporarily for several days until the problem is thoroughly fixed by the tech team, then I'll apologize in advance to the (few) innocent Korean souls that would be wrongly blocked. We don't see lots of Korean on this European forum, do we? Not that I criticize the mods. I know that spam is a big problem nowadays because real people are HIRED and PAID to spam. If we leave others will come. I am not that important am I ?

Who keeps triangling my remarks, please? If I want to say a poster-ahem--is NOT GREAT, why am I censored when those insisting his awful comments are great are allowed to remain?
<Should I send an invoice?> IS an egotistical comment, and I agree with Christina on this. Thankfully, her comment remains. <Fodors, time to pull the finger out please> This is an unacceptable vulgarity directed at the editors--and yet, MY comment deploring it is the one that's gone? For shame. |
Are you asking to be told that nobody likes you NewBe ?
|
Who keeps triangling my remarks, please?
How do you know your comments have been reported? |
don't know if they were 'triangled' or not. But if they were . . . that does NOT delete a post. An editor looks at the triangle/issue and then takes action - or doesn't.

18 such posts on the first page this morning.

At least these obnoxious posts are in Hangul, and so easy to recognize and skip. ;-)
|
The obvious problem is that this regular spam attack happens when those of us who live in Europe, and are probably best placed to answer questions, are active on the site. I used to read the European board before starting work in the morning - now it is just wall to wall Korean spam.
Those decrying others for being egotisitical, while complaining that THEIR posts are being deleted, may wish to look up the term "Irony". |
@ wilt -- it's ALL boards, not just Europe.
