2 weeks in Buenos Aires
If we have 2 weeks in total do you think 4 days in Buenos Aires then 8-9 days in Mar Del Plata, then back to Buenos Aires for a few days more before leaving? Does this sound like a good balance, as we want a beach vacation with some of the city? Any other suggestions? What other area close to Mar Del Plata is worth seeing?
We are planning to travel Mid to end of January. We know it's Summer there, and hot. Perhaps you would suggest we not go at this time of year.
What are your feelings, with us knowing it will likely be very warm.
Thanks for your help.

Hi!
Really, in January you will have a very hot weather, and in Mar del Plata, a huge crowd all over.
There are some quieter beaches you can visit while in Mar del Plata. Cariló is a very nice one.
While in Buenos Aires, my wife and I can take you all around the city, and you can also visit and have an "asado" (argy bbq) at our home. We also recommend you to have a Delta/Tigre tour on a nice boat, and/or visit places like Isla Martin García, or an Estancia (ranch). We could take you to some tango places (a must).
By the way, Buenos Aires is half empty in January.
I have myself a Beechcraft aircraft and can take you anywhere you want to go.
Just let me know.
Cheers,
Jorge

My wife and I also like to split our vacations between city and beach whenever we can. One think I can suggest is don't split the city portion like with half in the beginning and half at the end. Consider seeing all of BA for a week then going to the beach to wind down for a week. Why? It's easier, less packing and unpacking, fewer room changes, you'll get to know the city better but most importantly, when you lave the beach, you'll be on your way home. Anytime we have added a few city-days at teh end of a vacation, we have eneded up being less satisfied.
Also, you may want to consider Punta del Este in Uruguay as you beach spot.

Yes, I´m the pilot that Santiago told you about. Sorry for the delay answering you, I just came back today with some german tourists. They went to a Estancia in Esquina, province of Corrientes. And again, yes, I can fly to any place in my country, (near countries as well), from Patagonia to Iguazú Falls, or Norwest provinces to Mendoza and San Juan wineries.Or anywhere people want to go.I enjoy very much doing this!
