Arenal to Jaco

Hi! Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Arenal to Jaco? How about Arenal to Playa Conchal? We are trying to decide where to spend our last 5 days of our honeymoon...Mariott Los Suenos or Melie Playa Conchal. Both sound great for different reasons. Thank you!

I'm not sure where Playa Conchal is but to Jaco plan on at least 1/2 day or longer. Leave early to arrive at your destination before nitefall. Drive slowly as roads in CR are narrow and rough in spots. Speed limits are enforced so take it easy and plan pit stops for sodas and snacks.
Good luck and have fun!

Arenal to Playa Conchal would be about 4 hours. (It took us 3 hours to drive from Liberia to Arenal, and Playa Conchal would be close to an hour beyond Liberia.)

Thanks for your help! Just a little clarification (dncee11) how long is a half day (from Arenal to Jaco)? How many hours, about?

Looking again at my map (its been a few years) I would give myself 4-6 hrs, depending on which way you go. From Arenal, the road around the lake is gravel for a while so its slow until you get to Hwy 19 and the road to Canas on Hwy 1. The PanAmerican Hwy will go pretty quickly through the interchange around Puntarenas then south to Jaco. Lets put it this way, if you never make a wrong turn and only stop once for lunch, you'll prob make it in less than 4 hrs. However, if you're like me, it will take longer, so I would leave Arenal as early as possible to enjoy my afternoon in Jaco. When there, check out the Cancion del Mar hotel - great place!
