Sure- Most cities with a large Hispanic populations have buses to Mexico. If you don't take Greyhound to the border, take a Taxi to the bus terminal on the Mexican side and switch to a Mexican bus line. In some places like Laredo Texas you do not have to cross the border to get on the Mexican bus line, i.e. "El Ejecutivo."

The obvious way to get from the US to Mexico City by bus would be going to Laredo,TX, then Monterrey, then Mexico City.

I am almost sure that I have seen a bus line called "Autobuses Americanos" that leaves from Laredo into Mexico. I am sure that they go as far as Monterrey, I don't know if they go to Mexico City.

As someone said above, maybe the easiest way to do this would be to get to the bus station in Nuevo Laredo, and buy a ticket there to Mexico City.

Be sure to buy a 1st Class bus. From Nuevo Laredo I am sure you can take a "Turistar Ejecutivo". Those are very comfortable, with wide seats, only three seats per row, movies and beverages. 1st class buses are also safer and faster because they stop less frequently and take toll roads.

Good advice in the postings but will add a little more since I have made the bus trip to Mexico City many times.
I would recommend that you cross from Laredo,Tx to the Nuevo Laredo bus station by taxi. It is possible to take a bus directly from Laredo,Tx but the bus search at the border can take a long time! You can get the Turistar Ejecutivo direct from Nuevo Laredo to Mexico City. Very nice buses which take about 15 hours with maybe one stop--so go prepared with snacks and drinks.

Robert
