Canopy, Whitewater Rafting, Adventure Recommendations
Planning on going to Costa Rica Oct 21st.
We're looking for some recommendations for canopy tours, whitewater rafting, or any other "adventure" type activities you have enjoyed in the past.
We're planning on being in the San Jose, Arenal, Manuel Antonio areas but will be renting a car so getting to places won't be an issue.
Thanks!

Look here - www.arenal.net and here - www.manuelantoniopark.com
Don't spend too much time in San Jose - it is not a nice place. The airport is actually located in Alajuela, the next town to San Jose and is reasonably pleasant. If you need lodging upon your arrival or departure, Alajuela would be the best choice.

You might enjoy the Pacuare rafting/x-fer to the Caribbean side (from San Jose) and stay around Puerto Viejo. Better bet for good weather this time of year than Manuel Antonio. There you can kayak, snorkel, hike, etc. Arenal offers a lot of adventure activities. Check out Desafio tours website for some ideas.

Aguas Bravas offers a great combo with ziplining, rafting, short cultural tour, lunch and hot springs all for $99 from any hotel in Arenal - its quite the deal. Save more time to go horseback riding and hike down the waterfall (take a cab or walk and pay at the entrance - instead of paying a tour company for this one)
