Cooking Class in Puerto Vallarta?
I will be in PV for 3 weeks during January. My husband will be playing golf and I thought I would enjoy taking some cooking classes during the day. Any ideas would be welcomed.
Thank you

hmmm... sorry, I can't recall I've never heard of one (and I spend a bit of time there and read several forums regularly).
Maybe ask over on the Trip Advisor forum for PV, it's very active and friendly. Also www.vallarta-info.com and www.allvallarta.com are good websites run by folks living in PV.
i'll look around and see if I can find something for you.

two posts from TA/PV dated Jan '10
from JRinPV: "a lady friend of mine has started a Cooking Studio, up the hill behind downtown, Inturbide #381, at Miramar. Every Tuesday & Thursday, 12 pm Lunch or 6 pm Dinner. See http://www.lamesacookingstudio.blogspot.com/ "
from pilitas: The Essence of Cuisine Cooking school located in the Old Town has been in PV for 4 years. Private Chef Dolores Brittingham teaches Mexican, Thai, Italian, and Fushion classes fron November - June each season. The school is listed in Vallarta Lifestyle Best of Vallarta
(I read one person's positive experience of this school reviewed on chowhound.com)
There was also mention of a few of the restaurants but people didn't seem to know for sure who was still offering what.

suze,
Thank you so very much for your wonderful information. I will check out ALL of you tips when I get home this evening.
We were in PV several years ago for a very short time and as we will be there longer this year I thought it would be fun to
add a cooking class to my days. I have found that taking a class like this is a great way to meet some locals, fellow tourist and learn about reataurants and farmers markets.
Thanks again for your helpful replies.

No problem. Wish I could have found more. When you arrive PV pick up the free English/tourist paper that you'll find in hotels and restaurants. They have calendar of events, and ads for stuff around town. Maybe you can find some more that way.
