Our hotel has no air conditioning, although it is a very nice and not cheap hotel.
Some people say they don't need a/c.
Some people tell me it will be very hot, but I thought SMA was cooler being in the mts, am I wrong?
I would appreciate any response since I can always cancel and make this trip in the winter.

We were there in July and our hotel had no a/c . . . we were very comfortable. Our room was a corner room and had windows on two sides so we were able to get a breeze.

Summer is a delightful time of the year in highland Mexico. Hills turn green, and everything is in riot of colors. The hottest months are April and May till rain comes. In summer showers, which lasts only an hour or so, in late afternoon cool things off, and summer is quite comfortable. The sun is very strong, but no local is stupid enough to sit in the sun. Only Americans do that. It is basically desert climate, so air is dry, and that means shade is cool and comfortable. Houses are built of stone and think walls to keep heat out. In all the years I'd lived in San Miguel, I never felt a need for air conditioning.
Remember you are at 7,000 feet high. The sun is stronger than you think, so don't sun bathe. Air's dry, so drink water. Your body takes longer to digest food in this altitude. That's why locals have comida and no big American style dinner. Too much sun and big meal at night guarantee to give you Montezuma's revenge. Be sensible, and you'll have a great time.
