Mayan Riviera Villa Rental Areas

We're hoping to rent a villa in Mexico for 10 (adults and kids). Can anyone help me with the areas? Playa del Carmen seems great, but it's hard to find a place on the beach that's big enough for us. Is Playa del Carmen so great that I should stay there even if the house isn't on the beach? Is Playa Paraiso too isolated? Is Akumal too far? I'd love info on these and any other areas.

Thanks!

I just googled: "4 bedroom villa" "playa del carmen"

Several website came up. Some even over 4+ bedrooms and are on the beach. Here's one with a few listings www.villasplayadelcarmen.com/rent_4bed.html

they no longer represent properties in playa but there is a link for further info that will take you to another site that does.

Akumal is where most of the nicest villa rentals are -- it's not very far from PDC or the airport. A cute little town. If you all rent a car, it's an easy place to base yourself.
locogringo.com has tons of gorgeous places.

Look at this chart; it's nicely organized:

Thanks everyone.
The Akumal villas look great. Any advice on the different parts of Akumal?

I tried Googling for PdC villas, but it turns out none of the PdC villas are actually on the beach. (I guess "oceanfront" doesn't mean "beachfront.&quot I'm sure there are villas on a sandy beach in PdC, but I can't find them.

Thanks again, and I'm still open to more advice.
