Merida

Hi...Any recommendations for a honeymoon stay in Merida? We are thinking of going for a few days post a stay in Cancun.

Thanks!

Well, do you want to stay right in Merida, or are you just interested in being in the general area??

Outside the city, in the states of Yucatan and Campeche, the Starwood group runs several restored hacienda inns that could be quite romantic (for the traveler who appreciates upscale historical properties). If you're that kind of person, you can check out their web site:
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/luxury...=LC#country_MX

Another recommendation, if you have a hankering for train travel, is to do the Maya Express train trips, visiting several Maya sites along the way and staying overnight in luxury hotels. Info on these trips is at:
http://www.expresomaya.com

Just a couple ideas...might also be nice to escape the crowds and head up to Holbox or someplace like that...

Have fun!
Mark

We are actually hoping to find a small B&B or inn that has a romantic feel to it. Any suggestions?

Casa Esperanza is just for you. Walking distance to Centro. Only three rooms--very nice hosts. Would return there in a heartbeat!

What dates are you going? I found a great deal at a B&B that's absolutely wonderful.

Also check out Casa Mexilio (google for website) - very charming (we loved it) and in walking distance to Centro.

We have been looking at a place called Cascadas de Merida which looks relaxing and fun. Does anyone have any experience there? Also any recommendations on an itinerary? We were thinking of possibly flying into Cancun and would like some beach time, some touring of ruins, and some relaxation. Thanks in advance!
