P.S. I believe there are one or two ferrys that will take your car over to the island from Almirante. Otherwise small water taxis, holding ten to fifteen people, go all day long.
Another option would be to take a bus from David, and then you wouldn't have to worry about the car at all. You could take a bus from David to Changuinola, and then a bus or taxi from Changuinola to Almirante. You would want a Changuinola bus from David as it will certainly be your fastest bet.

livekarma--Thanks for the update. I'll have to do some more reading on Bocas. Any experience with the island of Coiba? That looked like an interesting side trip. I understand there are supposed to be lots of birds out there and good snorkeling and diving...just would make for a long day trip since I understand there are no accommodations there, is that correct?
